G-TraX Simulations Releases Steam Locomotive Pack

G-TraX Simulations has released two US-prototype steam locomotive packs for RailWorks. The Spokane, Portland & Seattle 4-8-4 Northern pack includes passenger engine 700 and freight engine 701. The Nickel Plate 2-8-4 Berkshire pack includes engine 765 and a dynamically numbered Class S-2 Berk. Each model was created using scale drawings as well as field measurements and photographs. Features include quartered drivers with fully animated running gear, smoke and steam effects, sounds, animated crew figures, and a 360° virtual cab with animated operating controls and gauges.

The prototype SP&S 700 and NKP 765 survive to the present day. They are maintained by volunteer organizations and are operated in excursion service. These models are offered as Donationware. Net proceeds from the locomotives are donated to the respective sponsoring organizations.
