Scotsman Is Saved!

(and the MSTS Scotsman model you've been waiting for has finally arrived)

April 5th brought the fantastic news that 4472 Flying Scotsman, arguably the world's most famous locomotive, has been successfully saved for future prosperity in the UK by the National Railway Museum in York. The following news snippet comes from the NRM's website:

"A successful bid was put forward on behalf of the nation with the help of a major £1.8m grant from the National Heritage Memorial Fund (NHMF). An initial £365,000 was raised through the NRM's public appeal and, as pledged, Sir Richard Branson matched this £365,000 on behalf of the Virgin Group. A further £60,000 donation by the British public raised the total to £790,000, leaving enough funds to keep the locomotive running on Britain's railway for years to come."

To mark this historic occasion, Blue Arrow TS announces their latest release, in the form of the "Scotsman Twinpack". For the superb value-for-money price of £3.50 you will get not one, but two models of the world's favorite engine, in LNER apple green guise as 4472, and also in later Brunswick green guise as 60103. The usual custom cabviews (taken from the A4 cab of the LNER pack) and authentic sounds are included.

This marks a new direction for Blue Arrow TS, as this is our first downloadable product. More LNER pacifics packs are currently in the pipeline, so keep your eye on this announcement page for future releases.

Blue Arrow TS will donate £1.50 from every "Scotsman Twinpack" sold to the NRM's Scotsman appeal, to help keep this marvelous piece of British history on the mainline for the foreseeable future.

The Scotsman can be downloaded or you can choose the CD version.
