3DTrains - Super Chief Passenger Cars in F-Unit Forum

[Hack]

Uploaded to the 3DTrains F-Unit forum is the new set of passenger cars I've been tinkering with. The cars are representative of ACF and Pullman cars built in the late '40's and early '50's and lettered for ATSF's Super Chief. :)

The models are far from complete - you'll note that details such as handrails and vents are not yet modeled, but the main bodies and interior sections are intact. Poly count hasn't yet been optimized either, so some hit to performance may be encountered for anything less than 800Mhz systems.

Will these be an add-on to the Santa Fe F7A, free, or another set?

If it comes with the F7A for the same price that it is now (personally, I find $10 somewhat expensive for only 2 locos), I'll grab it up quicker then you can say "Super Chief!"

The set will be made available to those that purchase (or have purchased) any of the F-Units (including the custom singles) as a generic 8-car set. Once the final is ready, the cars will be added to each of the current ProSeries F-Units in their appropriate liveries.

Freight F-Units will be knocked down to two-unit AB sets and replaced with suitable Passenger ABBA sets. Still a couple of details to iron out, but it's shaping up nicely. :)

I just ran them behind my Pro Series ATSF War Bonnets, these cars are the best passenger set ever released. All I can say is WOW!!!! I'd being willing to purchase my Pro Series engines all over again just to get these as finals, I mean their that good!!!!! Go Marc, Go!!!!
