I've really enjoyed some of the recent airslide hopper additions to the file library; thanks everyone for your hard work! I don't remember seeing too many of them, what exactly are they used for? Do they haul one particular item? Thanks in advance.

Most of these certain cars, seem to carry grain products, such as flour, starch, cereals, ETC. But I think they can also be used for non-food items. I do work for a McDonalds bakery in C
hicago, and they get several of these cars a day

In Louisiana we have quite a few of them for chemicals, carbon black, and even a little grain. I emailed Enocell 4 diferent carbon black hoppers, Maybe he will do a couple.

Airslides are sorta like common covered hoppers. They carry material that is best not left to the elements like coal, rock, and scrap steel can be, and can be carried in open top hoppers/gons.
But there is a problem with carring some of this material (sugar, flour, carbon black, or any other sort of delicate powdery stuff) -- when you open the bottom hatches, sometimes it doesn't want to come out. An older solution that I've seen on covered hoppers is at the bottom hatches/bays there are brackets where a 'vibrator' is attached to vibrate the car and get the stuff out. But in the mid 60's/70's (date??) they found that you could have a layer of (some material) on the bottom, inside the bays, air was hooked up to a seperate car airline on the car, and would cause the powdery stuff to slide out -hence air slide...
I'm sure others have more detailed/correct explanations, but thats what I remember

I will upload it later, probably with some more cars.

I uploaded the repaint package, it includes 4 blanks, uncompressed .s files and wag files.
You can change the texture name and then compress the .s file, so the cars can be in the same folder.

Has anybody made the cylindrical hopper(freeware)?

EDIT: Does anybody have the red, round Multifoods logo?
They seem to have changed the logo as it can't be found from their website.
