Yes I know it's the wrong forum but this is where most guys are.
Back to the subject...

I have no doppler effect when in #4 view. It has been like that for quite some time and even in previous installs it have been the same. It worked fine the first time I installed trainsim.
The reason I aknowlege it now is that I suddenly missed the sound when passing with a train and it sounded "whaoOOOOOouuu!" Only to dopple away. I don't know what caused it to be like this but it might have something to do with the audiocard and sound drivers. I tryed it on a friends PC and it worked fine but I didn't see what card or drivers he had.
Any input is apprecheated.

I think your right about it being the sound drivers, On my win 98 computer, it would not work, but with winXP (new drivers also) it worked perfect and on my newest computer, it too works fine

I got Win 98. So you'r saying that it's Win 98 that don't make it work. Is there any other drivers? We got SoundBlaster 128.

Well, not necessarily win98 is causing it, but the drivers the sound card are using, remember, each operation system has it's own set of drivers

It works in win95 as well (IIRC), so it depends on your sound card. Works with SB Live, but not with PCI64 (which I have)

Can you guys recommend some good sound drivers for SoundBlaster 128 that could solve this problem?

Guys, what I've found with the SB PCI64 card is to set your hardware acceleration to none. This can be found under control panel / sounds and multimedia / audio tab / advanced / performance tab. Setting the slider to none when running train sim has returned my missing doppler effect. It seems everytime I update my drivers, the update programs set this slider to its max setting. When this happens, I like you loose my doppler effect. To get it back, I simply slide the slider back to none and all is well again. I hope this works for you all as well.

Have Fun,
Rich S.
