I moved my HUD display to the left side of my screen to get it out of the way, but now my Raildriver doesn't appear to be working. Is there something in one of the Raildriver files I'm supposed to change also so it can read the info from the HUD's new location?

Jordan,
my attitude is "If it works, don't change it" ! ;-)
What benefits do you get from moving the HUD over to the left, other than a lot of hassle making the RAILDRIVER work again ?
It's like having a Railway and the Train Driver asking "can I drive my train 2 feet to the left of the rails ?" :7

There are numerous posts on the way raildriver has to work to get round not having provision for external control in MSTS.
Anyway, Hopefully you can get it back to where it is supposed to be, remember even if it is as little as 1 pixel out it will not be bale to read the HUD

Read post #16840, you might have your task bar hiding it or you went a bit too far left.
Only reason I moved mine is because it was right in the middle of the window.

If your's was in the middle of the screen, Bob, then the RAILDRIVER could not have read it ! If you got one that is !
How did it get into the middle of the screen in the first place ? It's supposed to be top right ! ;-)

I backed up my original HUD file, so it will be easy to get back where it's supposed to be. I guess I didn't realize the HUD had to be in a specific place for Raildriver to work.

Well done Jordan !
You have no idea how many guys start messing without taking a Back-Up of what they are messing with first !
If I had not done so before sticking my neck out installing DX-9 and the new nVidia driver, I would not be talking to you now !!! :7

Otto,
I didn't say it was in the middle of the screen, in the middle of the window I look out.
>>If you got one that is!<< Mystery why you would ask that.

I've run locomotives for 31 years, Baldwin S12, RS-11, GP-20, GP-38, F-9's plus all the locomotives LTV rented the last couple of years.
I moved the HUD because I like the SD40-2 and the HUD was in the middle of the window on the right side.

Anyway, have a nice day as I have to start the snowblower.

Let me add one more thing. The Raildriver worked perfectly out of the box. I let it sit for a week because some people had trouble with the throttle and brakes not working correctly.
NOT MY CASE. The throttle and brakes work just fine with my Windows XP. This is a wounderful add-on, beats the key board to no end.

Bob, I moved my HUD to the left for the same reason you did. It was in the way in the SD40-2 cabview. I'm not quite sure I understand what you mean by my task bar might be hiding it. By taskbar, do you mean the bar on the bottom of the screen that displays what windows are open? If so, then that wouldn't be the cause of my problem becasue my HUD is on the top of the screen.
Edit: I just tried running Raildriver with the HUD on the left again, and now it works. Not sure what changed between last time and now, but thanks for the help anyway guys.

Bob, your desk has the neatness, professionalism and logical layout characteristic of a serial killer. It creeps me out.

Guys,
Quick RD tech support note here:
TaskBars, wether you use ATI Graphics, Office, Crestive sound etc..... these applications have task bars which park themselves at varying locations around your desktop screen, if you use Raildriver, for the time being you need to close these (DO NOT HIDE THEM- CLOSE THEM) along with the windows taskbar being in a non default location, we have found this shifts your graphics pixels for the HUD off by a couple of pixels if the Taskbars are hidden, if they are open when RD is running they shift it out by a fair amount and RailDriver will not read the HUD.
This is Invisible to you while running Trainsim but we have found this to be the case.
Just thought I would share it with you.

Tim,
thanks for mentioning the hidden Taskbar problem with the RAILDRIVER.
I just brought mine out of hiding, needing it a lot to flick between other running Apps I am working with at the moment and haven't realised this likely to be a problem !
Take care, O t t o.

>> I didn't say it was in the middle of the screen, in the middle of the window I look out.
Wherever, it is not where the RAILDRIVER needs it to be.
>> If you got one that is! Mystery why you would ask that.
If you haven't got a RAILDRIVER then it does not matter where on the screen the HUD is.
This is my MSTS Driver Cab and / or FS Cockpit.
Waiting for the RAILDRIVER to be fully programmable like Joysticks so that I can use one of
the two I got as a THROTTLE QUADRANT / FLAPS / GEARS / SPEED BRAKES etc, Console
and assign FS2004 Axis Controls and Key Functions to it ! ;-) After the next MSTS ?
I got Gears and Flaps on the Aerosoft NAV Compact for FS2002 and X-Plane but it and the
RAILDRIVER / FLIGHT CONSOLE would make a great Cockpit assembly ! :7
Next a 46" Plasma Digital TV to output SIMS onto, using a RADEON 9700 Pro, if I can get one
here in the U.K., that is ! :-(
