Is anybody working on the NEC route from Philadelphia to New York and Boston. This a great part of the route and I greatly missed it when I run NEC route.

An extension of NEC v4 up to Trenton is planned, however, because of a lack of accurate information about NJT (Trenton-NY Penn Station), and of the extreme complexity of the PENN Interlocking east and west of NY Penn, it's damn near impossible to accurately recreate it....at least, not without XTracks, which, for the NEC, Vince and Bob are trying VERY hard to stay away from...

Well im actually Considering the use of Xtracks since i will need Tracks in that Nature to Recreate Zoo Interlocking in Philadelphia as well as Working Double Slips. I Do Currently have Xracks installed and im using it on a Route im currently working on with No problems at all

FWIW, I've been running NECv4 with Xtracks installed, and have had no problems thus far. -Phil

Looks to me like anyone heading from PHI to NYC is likely to encounter a Barstow-style "Great White Void." See the RGE map at http://www.trainsim.com/faq/msts/tech.htm#11.17
I hit one of these on my Florida Funnel route and relocated the whole thing one degree south to avoid it, which is really not an option for a Demex-ed accurate route.

Hey Kent, good to see you around.
BTW, how is the Funnel next version coming? The first was nice and I am looking forward to the next.

Same here. I have Xtracks 3.4.something installed (needed for Pat Dalton's S&C 1930 and Bob Siegerer's Marias Pass 3.1) and have no problems.
Flarrfan, my hero! I still use those activities, as good as ever. Nobody has made any better ones for Marias in all that time.

The answer to your prayers - I've been working on the NEC up to Penn Station, NY for since beginning 2003. Almost done - tremendous detail and a big big drain on CPU and memory - need good system to run it because of all the detail - need Xtracks also - still finetuning it but will release it by summer.

Mike,
Thank you oh thank you!! Can't wait. If you need a beta tester, just drop me a line, I'd more than happy to help. Trying myself to get into route building (LIRR), but for right now still(!) trying to just change the european bumpers to Hayes type - no luck yet.

Is this based on NEC v4 or the 'default' NEC?
