In the examples above, the line Radius ( 350.0 ) is the distance in meters.

The line Angle ( 15.0 ) is the width of the beam in meters.

Don't forget you have High & Low beam light spheres.

thanks....i made a few changes ....basically not much better, but did notice that the range of illuminated right of way starts back behind the lead loco....aroung the middle of the second loco..if this sphere could be move forward to start at the front of the lead loco this would help ....is there a change in one of the specs i could make...tks again..bob

Look for:
State (
Duration ( 0.0 )
LightColour ( ffffffff )
Position ( 0.0 3.5 18 )
Transition ( 0 )
Radius ( 400.0 )
Angle ( 15.0 )
)
)
)
POSITION..
0.0 means that it is on the centre line of the loco (-XX =to the left; +xx = to the right)
3.5 means that it is 3.5m above rail level
18 means that it is 18m in front of the CENTRE of the loco.( -18 would mean 18m behind..)
You can adjust theses figures to suit your loco.
Simple... when you know how.. :-)

I suggest you copy the technical documents from Disc 2 of MSTS onto your computer. Then look for the one about Lights, and it will give you a basic understanding of the lighting parameters.
