Hi,
I recently installed Train Sim on my laptop. It has a wide screen compared to the one on my desktop. Because of the wide screen everything in Train Sim is streched, distorting the shape and sizes of things in the game, does anyone have any suggestions on how to get the computer to display it right?

Thanks,
Brent

Have you run Mprofile in the MSTS folder?

Also, have you tried different resolutions in the options area?

Most widescreens have a setting to "expand while maintaining aspect ratio". It is found in the display settings ( right click on the desktop and choose properties ). You may have to "hunt" for where to make that setting.

The other option is to launch train.exe in windowed mode. There are threads here containing the necessary command line parameters to do this, but for me, the above works best.

Where do you find your setting for that?

Go into your Microsoft Train Simulator folder and there will be a file called mprofile.exe.

Double click it and it will make adjustments based upon the video drivers it finds.

Or simply change your laptop's screen resolution to 1024x768 or similar setting before running MSTS. You will have two black bars on each side of the screen, but MSTS will display properly.

This has to be done also when connecting a widescreen laptop to a standard LCD projector.
