Wow, nice locos! That Chessie scheme is nice and colorful.

Well converting the safety caboose pictured above into trainsim format has given me quite a headache... Don't know what the problem is - scale is correct, material naming followed, object naming, hierarchy, and pivot points all correct... conv3ds runs just fine and then the game crashes when i try to the game with the safetycab in the consist. Anyone have any luck with that yet?...
So anyway i decided to just repaint a boxcar and work a very little bit on the gp38 texture. Sheesh Kuju sure made the UV Mapping screwy on that loco... =\

EXCELLENT WORK! I'll be looking you up in the future when I want to run CSX loco's through Northern Kentucky!

Yay! After i posted that last message I decided to go read all the docs again... and sure enough I found a vital step i was missing... :)
Now i just gotta go back and fix the pivot points and that funky mirror'ed UV mapping and the scaling :)... oh and then finish the model =) (Like actually model the carriage :)

Excellent work. I'm wanting to get to work myself. I think freight cars are the easiest conceptually for me. Pull up a car similiar to one I want to do, reskin it and save with a new name. Is that the process? BTW, what program do you use to do this and what are your source files, digital photos??? But for engines I'm confused. I've figured out how to make AI locomotives driveable. When you colored those in the Chessie System, did the ones for the BNSF go away? Do you rename files saving them to chessie.s? What I haven't figured out is how do I have GP38-2's running with BNSF and IC on them. Do I make duplicate sd40.eng files? Thanks for your help.

Check out the New Haven GP38 in the download section here for great instructions on how to create new standalone trains/wagons you can include in consists.
It's not as simple as renaming a few files, but just a little more complicated :) Just need to edit those files you rename to reference your new train/wagon. All of that is covered excellently in the readme included with the new haven gp38 here. Much better than i could describe =)

Kevin, cool lookin skin...I am also making a Chessie skin
and wonder if you have time to look at the pics and see
if you can suggest how to fix the overlap on the logo from the
left side of the engine.....the round decal overlaps onto the
area just behind the cab on the left side ....thx controll
And did you get the decal from a web site or create it by hand?
