I can't get the makeace program to open. It flashes then goes away. Does this happen to anyone else?

Look for the MSTS MakeAce Interface in the file library. This is the easiest way to make ace files.

That's because you didn't run the .exe application.Ok here we go...This is what i do,place your bmp&tga files to be converted to ace files in your "Utils" folder. That is where the makeace program is(I know...you know that).Once you see your files in there, highlight the file to be converted, then left double-click on the "makeace" application icon, now go to the Windows "Start" button at the corner of your screen, click, then scroll to "Run".Open that up and you should see the command line for "makeace."exe"?Now you need to type in the name of the file.(Make sure you place your "cursor" at the end of the text in that line and click once to get rid of the blue highlight.Leave a space just after the quote(")now type(example)exe"space,coal_01.bmp,space,coal_01.ace.Hit the "Enter" key, then that black Dos box will pop up,then you will see your new ace file at the bottom..coal_01.ace.Make sure you do not change the name of the bmp,or tga before you convert it.And the tga file do the same, but don't type a tga file as a bmp,or vise versa. The original bmp,and tga will remain in the folder untill you move it.I sudjest moving it into the folder your working on,just in case you need to make changes to it later.Hope this helps?

Or...

You can use TGATool2 and never type a command line for MakeAce again!
