I completed a short route and want to run on it with just one Dash 9 to check the trackwork. The route appears in my Route and Activity Editors but not in TS. How do I get TS to notice it? perhaps related to this is that I have not found how to name sidings, post mile markers, etc. Therefore I cannot do an Activity for it. How do I insert these names?

Yep I have a good handle on creating routes and the editor is very easy to use. I read the manual and it said that once you build the route and save the route it will create an automatic explore route for you. Well I am not seeing it so maybe we are missing something here. Well if anyone has been able to create a route and use it inside the sim let us know how.
thanks

Ok The Manual Lied -
I went into the activities editor and played around bit and finally got the darn thing to load :O) then you have the explore route function and stuff - Kind of a pain though because you will have to create a new activity each time you lay track.
well back to route building

Cool Jason what did you do in the activity editor to build the activity I am still confused with this editor. Oh by the way did you figure out how to add object from another route? It is really easy. If you want to know how let me know and I will post it.

I tried doing something in the Activity Editor and found 1) I can't get anywhere without milemarkers or siding names and I can't find where to add those. 2) Each time I try anything in the Activity Editor I get an error (sent the first one to MS). Now I know at least to simply delete that bad Activity file after the error so I don't get a nasty note 'Acyivity List failed to Load' whenever I start Train Sim.

It worked for me, I was able to tour my route. I don't remember having to make an activity at all. I have deleted that route though because it was only a test. I will try again and see if it works for me.

Tom, in the help section look under Route Editor, Building Your Route, Interactive Objects, then whatever one you want. It tells you there exactly how to add in mileposts, sidings, etc. To name them is easy, after you place one just pick the select object button on the mode window(i am assuming you know where thats at but if not, the top left of the mode window). Then select the siding or milepost and right-click it. This will bring up a window where you can name it whatever you want.

Anybody else find they cannot add Mile Markers?
The instructions say that to add one, you select the "Interactive Objects" type.
I have that, and under it are 3 objects ("platform" and 2 others). No "Mile Marker" or "Speed Limit" or anything like that.
I found no mile marker object in any of the other object categories either, yet I started the route exactly as described in the instructions... followed it step by step from the Extractor to the Route Editor.
Anybody else see this problem?
