Ok, for those of you that have moved from my old thread on the general forum, this is my new house for a while - :-)
For those of you who think im nuts, well, yes I am, but that aint the point. I'm working on a complete EuroStar line running from London to Paris, and Brussels, etc... It's gonna be built up in sections, with the final release including The "Le Shuttle" - with the Lorry and passenger, and Auto Cars, and the EuroStar itself, with the carriages. The route will be built up in stages too, with Ashford - Paris the first priority. Then the route will be extended to London (and Manchester, hehe, i have inside info) and down to Marseille, and to Brussels. Maybe the lad whos working on the TGV line will help with this, it'd be good if we could build up a network going all over Europe. But I'm straying from thepoint. I already ahve one assistant (Lib - cheers m8) whos working on the France end, but i don't have EXTENSIVE knowledge of the 3D proggy's. If anyone can lend ANY hand, it would be appreciated.

Cheers in Advance

Hi Horgy, I live 10 mins walk from Gare du Nord so let me know if you need pics or anything as I have a digital camera. As you might imagine the trackwork approaching/leaving GdN will be a nightmare - good luck!

Cheers,
David.

That's perfect, i need all sorts of pics, like the architecture and stuff like that. Anyone got an overhead of any of the stations too? That'd be good. remember, anyone that helps gets a mention in the final thing!

Cheers

Horgy,

What a wonderful person you are. I think this has the potential to be the most popular route anyone will ever make for trainsim, and it's only been out a week! I'm off to the Paris Air Show on the 23rd June via Eurostar from Waterloo, so if there's any specific pictures you'd like me to take I'll be more than happy to oblige. And remember, it's gonna be tough, but DON'T GIVE UP OR I'LL NEVER FORGIVE YOU!! ;-) Best of luck!

Regards,
Alexis

Looks like ive got an influx of pictures - WHICH IS GOOD! Any pics are wanted, and appreciated! ive set up an email for these sort of things - EurostarProject@Hotmail.com. ive also got MSN Messenger, so dont hesitate to call me on that. Ive worked meself out a program, and it should work something like this...

1) My train "block" operational by Sunday
2) Compilation of pictures and files to be ready for initial designing week after
3) Initial shaping of engines by Mid July
4) Final Engine by 24th ish - released for beta to some
5) Engine and carriages out by End of July

OK - thats for the eurostar, we'll see about the rest.

Cheers

Hello

I have been working with 3D Studio MAX for 5 years. I am also a MSTS fan. If You want I can help You with 3d modelling and texturing. I think We should make more modern european train lines like EuroStar (sorry, I dont like american trains, only acela is good for me in msts;)). If You are intrested just contact me at szymek@intersklep.net Unfortunatelly I don't have time to search for sketches pictures etc in Internet. I can only make 3D Studio part.

Bye

Hiya !
For people who do not know me : when Horgy proposed to make the Eurostar line on the msn forum, I replied I could help because I am French, living in UK, and I take Eurostar next week, so I can take shots of the arriving in Gare du Nord. Anyway, if some people living in Paris can also help (thanks rabid_david) it will be perfect !
Moreover, when I come back in England, I will bring to Horgy my collection of topographic maps of France and Paris to begin the design.

Thanks for everyone contribution !

Yes 3D help is definately wanted. I'm trying to figure it all out, but if you could give some hints that'll be great. I've just had my copy of MSTS through today - but I can't play it because i'm out for a romantic evening with a lady (hmmm... Are my priorities right? :-) I have quite a collection of pictures now, some good ones of the Eurostar on trucks, so work is underway. WATCH THIS SPACE!

LAST EDITED ON Jun-13-01 AT 03:06PM (EST)[p]EuroStar will definately be released first. As for the line, That's a possibility, but at present i don't have enough info about the lines to even sketch out on paper! the more information I get, the further along the lines the project goes. If you have any pics, or info - mail em to EurostarProject@Hotmail.com. I already have a couple of peeps on the team, working on the eurostar details. i DESPERATELY need line info and 3D Studio help.

Cheers

Hi !
Very nice this TGV !
Tomorrow morning I will take the Eurostar at Ashford for my trip to Gare du Nord. I will take the shots. Also I will come back in one week with detailed topographic maps so we can begin the railway design. I will take advantage of my holidays in France to do a level graph of the railway also.
Write you in eight days !

The EuroStar IS a TGV. If that helps at all?
