I was just wondering around the internet tonight when I came across this. The Union Pacific yard at Roseville California covers some 780 acres, is 6 miles long, has 136 miles of track and 338 Turnouts/switches.
The stats on this place boggle the mind.
1785 cars switched daily.
600 locomotives repaired monthly.
2350 locomotive services monthly.
2,350,000 gallons of fuel dispensed monthly.
I've been to and through Roseville several times, they must have this place hidden pretty good. I've never seen it. And something like this has got to stand out. It would be worth the drive from Reno to go and see the place. This kind of project for MSTS is only for the brave. Or the very insane. The editor is so unstable, I think that attempting anything substantial for the time being would be to invite many headaches.
Have a great weekend!
