Distances in Miles or Km's. Is there a way to find out?

I am working with the route editor, but I don't seem to know how to find out the distance of a certain line of rail. I know the rail objects have unique file names which may or may not tell their distance, but I'm not sure. Anyone know how to find out the distances? How many straight pieces of rail equal one mile?

I want to say its in meters. Look for the numbers next to an m in the name of the track section. If it says 500m 250m 100m 50m etc thats in meters. At least I think this is what it is.
