After going through some of the Tech Docs, it finally struck me that in the small part about Creating Terrain "terrain tiles which are generated with an editing tool. Theis tool converts Digital Elevation Map (DEM) data into a set of terrain tiles that can be loaded into the Route Editor as the first step in creating a route. Or you can creat a set of flat, blank tiles, not based on any exteranl data source." I'm beginning that it's not talking about the Route Geometry Editor. There must be something that we've missed, something that didn't get mentioned in the Tech Docs.

Just an idea that raced through my mind today. I have no idea about the DW application or the Mprofile application.

Have a great weekend!

Don't know what dw.exe does. But mprofile.exe is definitely activated by the launcher.exe in order to prepare trainsim to start according to your system configuration. Btw. Launcher may sometimes help if you've got problems with your display.

And concerning the DEM-extraction tool you've mentioned, there is a disappointing statement in the readme.rtf:

"TERRAIN EXTRACTION
· In the Engineer’s Handbook there is a reference to the terrain extraction tool:
“This tool converts Digital Elevation Map (DEM) data into a set of terrain tiles that can be loaded into the Route Editor as the first step in creating a route.” Note that the tool does not use DEM data, but is still used to create terrain tiles."

Does it mean that Kuju didn't use DEM-data or that this tool isn't (at least not yet) able to handle them at all? Who knows?
