I have tried to reskin some cabview files using tgatool and paintshop with no luck. Makeace tells me I need source files in 512 by 512 size. What is the best way to go about this?

Sounds like you do not have the updated version of the Makeace utility. If not, download it from the Microsoft TS site.

Otherwise you should not have this problem.

I went to microsoft's trainsim home page and dloaded the utilities package and tried it again with the same results. Tried it in dos bypassing the makeace interface and got the message that source file must be square. I made a square bmp and it converted fine but I lost the alpha channel. Any Ideas?

Going back to your experience in January, you said "I figured it out."

I am trying to learn to reskin cabs with Targatool2, PSP, and Makeace for windows. I get the "image must be 512x512 message."

Can you tell me, step-by-step, how to reskin a high resolution ace file with the tools I mentioned above?

Thanks,
