I made for my new cab some fotos, also for the left and right view. But when I added them to my cab and made my first test-drive it seems, that the view-Angle doesn´t fit.

Question:

1., Must I make the fotos in an special angle in relation to the viewing side, f.e. 90° ?

2., Or ´re there special values in the cab-editor which must be tuned to the viewing angle of the picture ?

Thanks for your help,

RD

The only thing I can think of is that the position of the camera should simulate where you would be sitting. So, when you take the photos, you should sit in one spot and take a left picture, turn and take a right picture, and a forward picture, all from the same spot (probably the engineer's seat. Otherwise, when you put them in the sim the mind will be able to tell that something doesn't match up spacially, because the viewpoint isn't consistent.

For your particular pictures, the camera looks a little high (like you're standing up). Chances are, your forward cab view isn't set up that way, or the controls would be too small and far away. So what doesn't look right could be that when you look to the side, it's like you stood up all of a sudden.

Just a couple of thoughts. . .

Edit the Position ( x y z ) and Direction ( x y z ) coordinates in the .cvf file for each of the different views.

In the "Global" Folder, look for the "camfig.dat" file, open it with wordpad. settings for various cameras & views can be "adjusted" here.
For example: the cabview FOV, or Field of View settings.

The "Cabview" folder within your individual "Engines" folder, also contains an editable .cvf file.
Note: Edit at your own Risk !
