View Full Version : New Track Textures
Most likely, the ACE files aren't properly mipped. You can download Scott Miller's freeware ReMipIt program - easy to use, and usually does the trick! You can download ReMipIt here:

I've gotten so sick of improperly mipped textures, i just leave anisotropic filtering on at least 8x, I swear my eyes bleed if i don't
P.S. Marc, you may wanna update the version of conbuilder on that page, 1.5.1 is ancient, My friend ;)

Thank you Marc!! I re-mipped the acleantrack1 file, and put my settings back to no anisotropic filtering & render ahead to 3. No more 'waviness' in the track bed, and I was still getting between 39 to 52 fps depending on the scenery

That sure is a nice track texture. I'm using it for my routes as well. I'm waiting for my copy of THP II, as I can see well worth it!

Just pulling out of Bakersfield yard with a short one. I followed the links over to the polish language train-sim site in a previous post, and got the new track textures available for download there.
I could be totally off with this kind of track here on the Tehachapi Pass, but I like the way it looks (you need to have anisotropic on at at least 2x when using it, or it will 'shimmer' on you as you go by).
I'm running at 1600x1280x32 at 72hz refresh - Could the refresh rate cause the shimmering effect? This GF4 TI-4600 won't refresh any higher than 72 with this monitor.
