One of two Cheesie units owned and still operated by shortline Hartwell RR. This particular unit can be found in Athens Ga., where it was photographed along with IC #8396 last Friday. The other Chessie unit works the line based out of Social Circle, Ga.

Nice catch. BTW, Another ex IC GP10 can be found up here in NW Ohio on the Maumee & Western RR. Here are a couple of shots I just recently took of it and its mate, ex Santa Fe CF7 345.

Ah, yes. My bad. I went with the body. It is originally a F7 then CF7, now GP7U, correct?
BTW: They do own another unit, though it works for the Ohio Central now. It is an ex Conrail exx Penn Central nee NYC GP35. Not sure if it is still running though.

To my knowledge it started out life as a GP7 that ATSF put an angled cab on.

The CF7 is built out of a former F7 carbody and engine, modified to resimble a small switcher.

Both units can look similar from a distance, however the CF7 has a very short nose and a slighty differnt frame body.
