BAH!!! you're the reason railroads are failing!!! joking around don't take that seriously.:+ I saw something, like this once, only the sime had two wheelsets from a locomotive, traction Motors and all. I don't know of he only had two because of the weight, or they were only transporting two. It was a high riding flat-bed like the one above, but it was a tri-axle instead of just the duals. Since you're a trucker, do you know what the average axel ratings for these trailers are?

Normal Tractor
Gross Veh Weight : 80,000lbs
Steers : Varies Between 12,000 and 20,000lbs
Drives (the 2 rear axles on the tractor paired) 34,000lbs
Tandems(the 2 axles on the trailers) 34,000
i think 3 axles are 36,000 but the veh must not go over 80,000
now with the new auxilliary power units you are allowed 80,400
and i dont take that personally, i love trains and trucks, there is enough freight for both

Actually, trucks are closer to being the reason railroads are practically overrun with traffic these days. ;-)

This Winter they tell us we have no freight to run, yet i sacramento i see 15 of our trailers on a TOFC train, not busting trains, heck i love them, but got to make a living to be able to play with all the toys
