I need your help to get the sound working again in the program of Train Simulator. I am not sure where to look for to get the sound working again in the program of MSTS? Yes I did check in Options Menu to see if the sound is on. It is. Anyway the sound on the computer is working because I checked to see if I can hear the sound (music) coming through radio online on the Internet. It's working. Isn't that strange that one part with sound is working the other part of sound is not working on the same computer??

Any help would be appreciated.

Smile,

John

What is your systems sound setting at (like in dxdiag menu)? Put it to basic if it is higher, and see if that helps.
Have you changed drivers - system, or sound card? If so, run the mprofile.exe in the main msts folder.

Good luck,

Neil :)

Neil -- I turn down to basic from high and still the same with no sound for the program of Microsoft Train Simulator. So I ran dxdiag to see if the sound is working properly. Yes it is except the last part with the message before I click " OK " and here is below:

DirectX Diagnostic Tool

Your sound card does not support hardware buffering. Sounds will only play back from software buffers.

Guess that there is a problem with sound hardware in my computer. But will wait to see if anyone else say something here. Look like I have to get a new sound card for the computer.

Thank you again,

John

If it worked before, it's probably a corrupt driver issue. Try going into your hardware manager, completely uninstalling the sound card, delete any associated folders and reinstall again from scratch. See if your sound card manufacturer has an uninstall utility available and use that. Also, check your sound volume controls and make sure one of them didn't get turned down. It's possible for one, for instance "Wave" to get turned down while the rest of them to work.
