I have a Windows Vista Home Premium Operating System on my computer. And I am running MSTS Train Simulator on it. My problem is that routes that are downloaded have Installme.Bat files. When I try to run them, I get "Access Denied".
I have mannualy copied the files from MSTS Train Simulator Routes as shown in the Route Installme.Bat file.
There has to be a way to make these files work

Run them in administrator mode and you will be fine.

That link would be fine Chris if we where talking about Windows 7 in this forum, but we are not. Does anyone out there know anything about Windows Vista.

Using 7zip to extract the downloaded file got me past the same impediment you describe. I wrote this post in 2010 when I encountered and remedied the problem. Perhaps it will be your solution, too. Until that time, I had been using the Windows default Extract all...

Most Freeware add-on routes have them in their route folders and unless the WIN-7 User Account Control (UAC) has been turned off the Installme.bat has to be run as Administrator.

For the purposes of problems like this, vista can be treated the same as win7.
If you like windows 7 is just vista revision 2.

Vista has a version number of 6.0, while windows 7 has a version number of 6.1
