Well, I got my sticks of ram. Only 1 problem when i install them and turn the PC on it doesnt start it just runs and the screen is black and a light on the monitor starts flashing. any ideas?

Did you properly installed the ram sticks in the slot and make sure they are safely secured? Also, did you buy the same matching ram stick as the ones you have in the machine? If they are different than the ones you have, it will not work. For example; If you have 512 MB at 800Mhz and then you add another 512 MB with 633Mhz, it will not work. The MHz part had to be the same.

You did not secure them properly? Usually thats what happens when the system has no ram what so ever. Or you ran into a motherboard compatibility issue.

As pointed out above, if you did not purchase ram that is compatible with your mobo, you will have a problem. If you don't have a motherboard manual, look it up on the internet and see what type/speed/slot positions you need to focus on.

And for God's sake ensure your computer is actually OFF when doing anything with the RAM DIMMs.

Its off :rolleyes:, but I think I have a compatibility issue, So I just installed them and my video card in the computer im using now with good results. I get 5-15 FPS on LSR&C which i a big improvment over 1-4 :D. And i get 15-30 on the pokey. So im satisfied;) Thanks for yalls Help!
