As some may know, I was working on the Portland to Waterville line, but later pushed that aside for the Mt. Division route, which is still a slow work in progress and is kind of getting side lined for another small project I have yet to announce.

Anyways, while working on that little project, I noticed thanks to bing maps. That the bridge I always thought was a single track bridge, turned out to be a double track bridge. So that got me thinking.

Would it be interesting enough, to set back in play the Portland & Waterville route to the 1950's with double main line trackage all the way from each point, including both main lines. The Back Road via Brunswick/Augusta area, and the Secondary Main via Lewiston/Auburn. along with the many lines that branches off including the Rockland Branch, Lewiston Lower Road, Rumford Branch(with tracks into Hartford, ME) Hinckley Branch(with tracks into Skowhegan) and the small industrial tracks.

Would be interesting, to have that I would think. Many freights hauled by steam, while a few daily mail trains and passenger trains roll through behind the F's and E's. ;)

Course with that, this route would take longer to build and would be released AFTER the MEC Mt. Division.

What do you think guys? Time to bring back some real Maine Railroad history to MSTS?

Maybe this will also encourage a certain good person to make a MEC set. ;)
