View Full Version : How can I remove the numbers off of Mike Zimmer's repaints?

Since Railworks assigns numbers to loco's in scenarios, when I apply one of Mike's repaints, I get his numbers and Railworks numbers on top of each other (example in attachments) on both the sides and the marquee.

Thanks

EDIT: I should be asking how to keep Mike's numbers, and how to remove the default numbers. I just noticed how clean and sharp his are, and how some of the fonts look pretty cool. I'm sure there must be an easy fix with RW Tools for this ?

They are still the old models of Kuju. This I do not use.If I have more time then all switched to the new RSC Models.

Oh, the ones I downloaded were for RailSimulator, not for Railworks, although they are compatible, correct?

Is there a simple fix for this in the meantime?

BTW, thanks for the fast reply Mike.

For this I need to change the bin files. And all the number have to be created transparent textures.Write me which models are affected.

I'll just do one of each that I downloaded to act as a blank "template" for transparent numbers. I assume they are identical skins, they just have different numbers, so one is only needed for Railworks.

SD40-2\UP-1\3400
SD40-2\SP-2\7333
SD40-2\NS-6181
SD40-2\CSX-4\8024

I haven't downloaded any repaints for the ES44AC of F7 yet, and haven't downloaded any 3rd party models since I'm still using default routes as of yet.

Thank you again,
Tudds

Tudds,

One way to get rid of the numbers is to replace their textures with transparent ones. You can find a set of transparent textures in my later repaints of Dick Cowen's 40' boxcars (PRR, ATSF, BLE) here in the file library.

Simply grab the number_* textures from the boxcars download and copy them to the engines -- you may have to experiment a bit to get the correct naming. Usually the engine numbers are also called something like "number_X.tgpcdx"

Hope this makes some sense.

Cheers!
Michael

Yes sir!!! That works, and there is no need to rename anything because the files are all the same name. Only needed to drop the "invisible" files into the models I am aliasing from, and then modify the repaint's engine bin file.
