Railworks has been turning out some really good models lately. But one thing that drives me absolutely nuts is the fact that all of their locomotives look like a nuclear bomb has gone off in the cab. The bright and shining cab interior isn't realistic, even on the brightest of days. And, it seems that no amount of begging, posting, cajoling, or emailing RSC will get them to change this.
I've placed a download on my website that darkens the outside windows down to a more tolerable level. It's a simple alpha adjustment to the existing glass textures from RSC. The effects shaders make for nice reflections in the darkened windows (windows are not as dark as they appear in the photographs due to compression).
Be warned though before you download it that it is untested Beta, and may not perform as you expect. Back up any important files in your Railworks installation and your computer before you install it.
If you want to try it, it's in the side bar at www.smmdigital.net
