Hi

I know this is in delvopment but i have a number of questions about this:

1. in the standard add-on of East Coast route most of the standard engines have disappeared to be replaced with "unknown engine type". The game is fine if using by MSTS entry.

2. in the log box a number of errors occur, but the game still seens to run.
these include, incorrect format of lines, incorrect streem count (normally one is missing, and occurs chiefly in line 193,and 201 but is in overs

3. overheadline.ace is missing in add-on, but can be copied from OR add-on folder

are these just teathing problems or is they something wrong with my system?

Would some knd people please advise, I have attached the log file below to assist

Are you using the fancy OR menu (multi-colored) called MenuWPF.exe? There is a know issue in retrieving certain locomotive names for explore activities. You can switch to the standard windows menu which will have them listed

There are definitely bracket problems with those sms files listed in the log. The line #s are where the initial problem is.

3. overheadline.ace is missing in add-on, but can be copied from OR add-on folder
Yes, you can use either of the two ace files called overheadwire in the AddOn folder. There are two colors provided, or you can change the ace to whatever you like. The file should be copied to your C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Train Simulator\ROUTES\Great_Eastern\Texturesfolder. If you don't, OR will automatically use the dieselsmoke.ace to texture the overhead wires. That's what the WARNING is saying is its looking for an ace file called exactly "overheadwire" and it's not finding one.

Since Open Rails' objective is not to "hide" what it's doing from the player, so a lot of information is recorded in the log file. In that way, the community doesn't have to guess what is going on. There's nothing wrong with your system, nor are these teething issues with OR. The log file is just detailing everything about the software - what route & activity is running, what software modules are loading, and if there are any problems with your routes, trainsets or activities. Eventually, a lot of this information will go away.

A WARNING message is just that. It will cause something not to sound, display or move correctly, but OR will run. An ERROR on the other hand will probably cause OR to abort the game, but not always. In your log file, it shows that OR is having trouble decoding a world file: w-006044+014948.

Is the game failing to load?
