    Default Railfan question

While looking at some new shots that people have Posted, I found a neat one with a B&M F7 unit #4266 while here is what I want to know, becuase I have been starting to see it.
What does W and E at the end of the unit number mean?
    Example: 4266w 6506w and 6516e.

    here is the picture.

I'm guessing that the way he posted it, "4266w/6505w/6516e..." that the 4266 and 6505 were facing west, while the 6516 was facing east.
