Default Is this an XP thing or not?

I posted earlier today about MSTS crashing when I minimize any of the menu or options screens. Well I can't seem to figure out why and I also just found it will crash when I pause the sim. YUP! I am getting that ol' Send Don't Send message. Is it maybe my version of DirectX? The computer is new, only had it for a few days.I clicked on details and this is where it pointed out the problem.
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Train Simmulator\dxdiag.txt
    Also,
    C:\Program Files Microsoft Games\Train Simmulator\dwmdrivers.dat
Again, here are my system specs:
    Pent. 4 @ 2 Gig
    512 MB DDR
    Ti4600 Video
    Sound Blaster Live
    40 Gig HD
    DirextX 8.1
    Dell & XP Home
    Thanks in advance...

Well to answer "Somewhat" About dxdiag that is the DirectX Diagnostics menu you may need to update your DirectX Drivers

Hi Bob. Would you know where I could go to check these DirectX Drivers and the latest version?
    Thanks for the reply.

I think I've had the same crash running WinXP Pro. Instead of minimizing using the button in the upper right of the window, do it by hitting ALT-TAB on the keyboard. I've switched back and forth many times that way without a hitch, but as soon as I try to use the minimize button it will crash every time. I just got in the habit of doing it via the keyboard; kind of annoying, but not that big a deal anymore.

My system specs are nearly the same as yours, only difference is that I run XP Pro, and I have an NVIDIA GeForce graphics card.
Haven't had a prob with this yet, but then again, just as someone else here posted, (forgot the name), I never minimize with the button in the corner of the screen, I always do it with ALT+TAB.

I have XP and t/sim always crashed when minimising using top right hand button. Then I read about using the windows button on the keyboard - This works fine.
