    Default MSTS @ Widescreen resolutions?

hi Guys (and Dolls if any:)),

I Wonder if anyone knows a hack to get MSTS at widescreenresolutions such as 1280x720/768, 1920x1080? (16 : 9 aspect)?
I tried to change the resolution and then looked wich files where updated, but those files looked scrambled/compressed to me :(

    I've succesfully TRS2004 @1920x1080 :), here's a screenshot:

Thanks in advance for any sugestions :)

I've been running MSTS in 1600x1200 for a while now. The kind of resolution where overhead wire LOOKS like overhead wire. It requires a switch setting on the command line to get it set up...I can't remember what the syntax was, I found it on a website with lots of other tips on MSTS.

Interesting - I have been running MSTS on a 1600 x 1200 monitor with absolutely no switch settings. MSTS detected it on its own.

What definitely doesn't work is "portrait mode", i.e. using additional drivers to simulate 1200 x 1600 resolution with the screen rotated 90 degrees. MSTS just exits silently.

What does MSTS do when it sees a monitor with the widescreen aspect ratio? Quit silently?

MSTS flattens out (elongates) on my 17" widescreen. If someone can remember the "fix" I'd appreciate knowing it.

    Hi Alfred !

What is the Desktop Screen resolution of this 17" monitor.

Try setting the MSTS Options/Display settings the same or try some of the others.

The resolution is 1920 x 1200. The choices available in the Options setting all run in a proportion of 4:3 (I guess widescreen wasn't available when MSTS came out). Its easy to change in Trainz because there is a file you can open with Notepad and enter your display settings. I can't find anything similar in MSTS or BVE. I haven't opened EVERY file in MSTS, but I think I've looked inside everything that seems even remotely related.

My laptop is 1280 x 800, and I run MSTS at 1024 x 768, in a window, so things aren't stretched. The window just fits vertically ( because of the window border ), and sits fine in the middle of the screen.

Mine fills the screen regardless of the resolution I choose.

You have to use the "window" command line parameter -vm:w.

Where exactly do I enter a command line parameter?

    Thanks,
