    Default Missing services

    Hello all,
I'm having a problem with MSTS, and I can't locate any good info on the matter. When using Route Riter to check all my activities the report says I'm missing these two services, "Missing Service Eastbound TOFC2 (Act5_1).srv in 4-local2.act", "Missing Service CPA1_BNSF_BoxCar.srv in CPA1_BNSF_Intermodal_1.act". I have had these problems before, reinstalling the routes or completely reinstalling MSTS doesn't help.
I don't know if anyone else has had this problem, or knos how to resolve it. But, any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Ohno

    Hello Ohno,
Services (.srv) are in the "Your Route"\Services folder.

Is this an activity that came with the route?
    or
An activity that you downloaded for the route?

If this is a downloaded activity,
Did it have a activity package file (.apk)?
    or
Did it have files that needed to be placed in the appropriate
    folders (activity, paths, services, traffic)?

If the later is true, make sure you have placed all the files in the correct locations, otherwise you will have to contact the author of the activity as the above files are missing.

    Take care,
    Rich S.

    Hello again,
Sorry, I did forget the particulars about the files, the one TOFC2
(Act5-1) .srv, is from Streamlines Seligman route. The CPA1_BNSF_
Boxcar.srv is from 3DTS Cajon Pass,(Payware), so there is no confusion.
As you can see the one activity is Intermodal 1, the second is Food Run
    Part 5.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks again.

    Hi Ohno,

    Reinstall the activity 4-local2.act
If its still not fixed, email the activity writer.

    Whose activity is it?
    Cheers

    Hello Derek and all,
I have reinstalled these routes before, and I have had the same outcome. Even after reinstalling MSTS. I don't know who wrote the activites as they are both part of a payware route. I thought some one might have the files on their computer, or perhahps how I might extract them from the
    discs.
This seems to be a problem that is exclusive to my setup.
    Well, thanks for the suggestion.

    Hi James,

    Not exclusive to your setup.
    Missing here as well,

    Missing Service Eastbound TOFC2 (Act5_2).srv in 4-local2.act

    Cheers

What to do with missing services? I too have activities on several routes that show missing services or traffic. Consists with errors, etc., can be fixed, but missing service and traffic files cannot without some concept of what the activity is about. Should those activities just be deleted? I would like to delete the consists of those acts as well.

    Hello Ohno,
There is a patch available on the Stream Lines site under the support section that lists fixing missing consists.

    http://www.streamlines.ca/main.html

    Take care,
    Rich S.
