    Default Help Please

Take a look at the this pic and you will see that little thingy that keeps the rain off your head is further down the track than the engine. I know how to change the position if it were the grab irons floating in the air, so would you do this problem the same or would you have to change something else?

    Hi John !

Don't know whether this loco is using a "Freightanim" function to display that rain guard.

It it is then some of it's visual placement parameters are wrong !

They don't use a Freightanim. I just looked at the eng file. I don't beleive i have seen this before! Would be nice to slide it back on the engine!

What you're seeing is clipping of the locomotive sun shade. Move the position of the head out view in the ENG file outwards and it will go away.

    Cheers!

    Hi Otto
They are in the F/L . Search, Modern diesel loco's and then type
Milwaukee road. Their are 2 or 3 sets of SD40-2's and they all do it.

    Hi John

upon looking closely, I think that the rain guard is in the correct place (above the side-window of the locomotive). What needs to be slightly adjusted is the position of your head-out view camera. It seems the camera is very close or exactly at the same altitude above ground as the rain guard, i.e. as if you had your head sticking through it (outch!). By default, this camera can only display items that are at least 0.3m away from it, so any part of the guard that is closer to you reamins invisible, giving the effect of the guard starting too far forward of the window.

Whatever the line HeadOut ( x y z ) does currently show, modify it by lowering the y value by some .25 or .3 metres, and see if that makes things better.

    Hi John !

I tested the milw182.zip and it does not do that in the right head-out view.

Could you please be more specific ? You still got their download Zips stored on your computer ?

Or ZIP one of their TRAINSET folders and e-mail it to:

    Otto:
If i remember right, i don't think those engines even have a headout
in the engine file. When i put the HeadOut line in the eng file i've been using what Cindy R. gave me a long time ago and for some reason it don't like to work on these Milwaukee engines. So i've just been playing with the headout. Using this line has come pretty close but not close enough. Head Out ( 1.73 3.48 5.4 ) now take a look at the pics and if you can, tell me what the headout line should be. At least i got the guard back on the engine!
