Question about crossings

I am in the process of building a route from West Palm Beach to Miami. I am now at the West Palm Station and placed the station and other office buildings around the area. I have also built the roads and one crossing so far. The crossing I am using is under track objects and is called Us Crossing 1x or something like that. It has a cement crossing section and two gates. The thing does not do anything and cars continue to pass thru the crossing even when the train is comming. Is there a way to correct make it work. I noticed the japan crossings have an invisible piece that may have something to do with it but not sure. Any ideas would be great.

Forget it I figured it out I was using a static non animated crossing instead of the ones that work. The ones you need to use are the ones called level crossings not the other type.
