Thread: GP49's anyone?

    Default GP49's anyone?

Even though they were piles of junk, I think Alaska Railroad's blue and yellow made them look snazzy. I'll be making a freight anim for these to look like the actual thing.

Making new fans designed like GP60 style fans has got to be fun.
Make a high hood version and I can do some NS/SOU ones.

All I have to do is alpha the fans, and put one new one on. Then have the winterization hatch on the one infront of it, that way it wont up the polys any further.
Some renders from 3DS Max with parts of the f/a complete.

I test exported it through Gmax and it keeps ending up tilted 90 degrees. Even if I rotate it 90 the other way. I'll keep plugging at this along with the ARR GP40-2 and F69PHAC. Not to mention the ACE cars I must make to match the F40PH-3C.

Hmm, well just remember, There are two fans on the rear. Also When I do fans, I make them 12-16 sides. Not much Polys is used up.

With the winterization hatch over the other, there's no point in putting both fans on.

Even added the Gyro-light! Nicely done.

I'm still waiting to see your 15-1

That is rather incorrect. If you place a winterization hatch, there still is a screen on the top of that hatch that allows to see it. If you alpha it correctly, people will see in and see a blank spot. So why not place a fan there too?

True. I'm just going to have the fan blade guard and the blades. Rather than the sides.

Would you like a .eng file for the GP49? If you attach it here, I will update with the latest physics for a GP49. I have been waiting for these.

I just took you v4.7 .eng file from the f/l this morning. Here ya go, have at it! How exactly did you model the turbo lag that these suffered from?
