Thumbs down Virus in one of the routes

I just downloaded the 1940_LHR.zip the large file for full install and it has a virus in it called Win32:Trojan-gen {Other}. Is this a false positive or do we really have a problem....

    Hi Jib,

I'd have to think that if you are the only one complaing there is a virus in this file out of 2384 downloads the problem is at your end.

Actually, I've been fortunate enough to have beta tested for Rich for the last few years and Norton has never picked anything up for this or any of Rich's files... ever.

Exclamation Most Likely a False Positive.

    The line "Win32:Trojan-gen {Other}" is a clue.
The word 'Other' indicating that the virus checker is confused because there is no Trojan named "Other". (not yet anyway )

As this route has been out for a while and does not have any nastys, it's probably false.

I would suggest AVG anitvirus (Avast!). Very good, non-intrusive and automatic updates. This is the best I've found with Norton being the worst.

There is also the possibility that if you are the type who surfs the net a lot that you do have a virus on your system which will try to infect any new files it finds.
Have you run a scan on you ENTIRE system lately and is your anitvirus software up to date. My AVG auto updates EVERY day!

Actually, the same thing was true for Streamlines routes. They say to disable the virus checker because it shows as a Trojan. Worked fine for me after I shut it off and installed it.
