Default terrain spill after changing terrtex.

I'm puzzled as to why a terrain spill shows up after changing a terrtex in the RE. It made me really mad and have found no solution to fix it at this point. Any input would be appreciated. Jim

    Why is a good question.
Is the terrain grid on the tracks set to 0.0 bias

    Jim,

As Rick has mentioned, setting the error bias back to 0.0 should fix the spill. Right-click on the terrain square in question, select Error bias..., change the value to 0.

It's been my experience that changing the terrain texture always resets the error bias back to the default value of 1.0. Sometimes changing the terrain itself does, sometimes not; I haven't been able to figure out when/why.

As far as why this happens, any time you change out a terrtex in the RE the terrain error bias reverts to the default 1.0.

So while you are there, right-click and set the bias back to 0.0.

Thank you guy's. That was indeed the problem. I seem to remember doing that at one time in the past and forgot. My one brain cell that still functions gets over taxed at times.

Good post. Another addition to my notes.

It seems that anytime you change out a Terrtex with Track or Roads involved this happens. To correct that do as whats mentioned above changing the Error Bios back to 0

There is an option in RouteRiter to set the error bias of all terrain with tracks/roads to 0.0
    with kind regards,

However there could be a frame-rate penalty...

Here's an "fps" experiment I conducted during the developments of Jeff Farquhar's Surfliner route.

The reason that the just track/roads patches set to 0 is the same as all patches set to zero is that there is just a constant 2000 meter viewing distance to see terrain mesh, so both cases are the same. The mem switch exp't was doing nothing, so I stopped...
