Default New Commuter/Passenger, any and all

Back to where I left off on the locked thread. Jeff has done an amazing job on custom building the stations besides being another well done route. I'll try to provide shots as I travel along. My screen shots may not do the route justice but I'll try..

As I was going to finish in the old thread...
Amtrak California 2010 leads her first train out of Bakersfield, Ca on the 703
    Idling at the station

    Departing the station

As she is leaving the station

A zoom shot as she heads off into the sunset

The final shot of the night leaving downtown Bakersfield with the Bank of America building showing just peaking over the superliner

Since the train is so mixed with others repaints, I guess I need a list lol
Engine: Original: 3DT repainted by Mingo Molina then I renumbered, added the repower logo, added the CalTrans logo, and added new lights
    Superliner: 3DTS/Mingo
    Amcal cars: 3DT
    Amcal 8301: 3DT/Ryan Reynolds

Awesome! You are very lucky to beta test Jeff's new route.

    The Coast Starlight departing Eugene

    Outside Eugene

Outside Oakridge with the sun setting

    Rounding a curve

Usually when I post pictures of the Starlight, I rant on the lack of new Pacific Parlour Cars. >_<

I've done the same, just a few minor things. The first copy I had a while back had Burbank Airport on flat ground. I notified Jeff at that time and I'm glad he was able to change it. I told him you would probably inform him of the correct flight paths

If you stood at the west end of the platform at Burbank Airport, you used to be able to watch the takeoff roll, but I think they built some structures that obscured the view, so you just see the last bit as the jet roars off and heads over that cemetery on the south side of the tracks. Since the runway is relatively short and they have to climb rapidly to avoid rising terrain to the south, they're pretty much doing a maximum performance takeoff, and it's LOUD. Typically flights turn right/west as they climb out.

Most aircraft into Burbank land on Runway 8 (roughly to the east). This is the normal landing runway for commercial aircraft since the main ILS (instrument) approach is for Runway 8. The landing approach roughly parallels the railroad tracks between Van Nuys and Burbank. Small aircraft use both Runway 8 and Runway 15 for takeoffs and landings.

The first time I did the ILS approach into Burbank for practice (a touch and go), my landing gear failed to retract (better than failing to extend!) and I had to cut my practice short.

Remember a few years back when a jet overran the end of Runway 8 and ended up across Hollywood Way?

Steve, I'm aware of which way the flights leave and arrive but I don't think Jeff does.. You'll notice when you see that area. I remember that flight, from Las Vegas that went across Hollywood Way and almost ended up in the gas station.
Remind me to tell you about the near miss my son experienced a couple of months ago when he flew out of there in a B17...
