The error message says that msts is looking for and not finding the shape and texture files for scale rail or scale road that belong within the Saluda route folder.

I think the same thing happened to me when I installed it and I needed to copy those textures from somewhere else (you can find them by entering a file name into search) into the specific folder that the error message says is needed.

If you don't have them somewhere else on your system than something went amiss in your downloading and installing.

My first trip down Saluda grade resulted in an immediate runaway and spectacular derailment!

As I remember, this was a tough install. It didn't use the latest version of scalerail, i.e. it used an older version that had some additional files in it. Most of them were concerned with roads and such. I did finally get it to run after a little work digging up the additional files.

    Iirc,
There was a post about a year ago here concerning the installation of the route.
Might want to try searching under "Saluda"

There were also some track database issues, needs an older version ?
I will look when I get home & see if I can find a link.

That was it, an older version of the scalerail/scaleroads. There was a post in the routes section describing the process from a year ago. From what I remember, the author may have uploaded the needed files as well. I do have everything that was needed for this route still in my files somewhere in addition to in the Route as I backup all my downloaded files to DVD.

I did the route with an early version of ScaleRoads that was made available to route builders. Though 3DTrains made that version available to the public in general for a short time after I uploaded the route in the mistaken belief that a new version of ScaleRail included the ScaleRoads files I used (it did not), that older version of ScaleRoads that I used was apparently changed some time ago, and unless someone from 3DTrains corrects me, I don't believe it is available anywhere. I discovered this when I installed a more recent route with ScaleRoads and discovered that Saluda no longer worked without error messages. Apparently the newest version of ScaleRoads was NOT made backwards compatible. So basically, if you did not download the route and get the correct version of ScaleRoads, or if a later route download installed the newer version over your old version, without a backup you are pretty much screwed. I do not recommend that anyone try to install this route because the correct ScaleRoad files are apparently no longer available, and the current files do not seem to be compatible with the earlier version I used.
