    Question Marias Pass Disappears

This one's a puzzler, and I'll say what I can about it. The problem is simple, though--when I play Microsoft Train Simulator, it will no longer allow me to use the Marias Pass Route. The Question is why?

When I originally installed the game, it worked just fine. It has worked just fine until recently. As far as I can tell, all of the original files are still there. However, it will not show up in either the Route Editor or the game itself. I have only loaded it into the Route Editor once, and that was to try and find out why it won't create usable paths at the loop near the summit. I made no major changes, if any, and it worked immediately afterwards.

To my knowledge, the best possible answer relates to a route I recently installed, the Copper River and Northwestern. (Technically, the orignial file is the Cooper River and Northwestern). In addition to the route, I added the fix, which supposedly just changed "Cooper" to the correct "Copper". I thought I may have accidently put the fix in the wrong folder, but not so.

My next best guess still follows the Copper River route. Included are files to be added to the GLOBAL folder. I backed up the original before adding these. However, I later assumed this was only for those who did not have XTracks installed on their computers. I then put the files in the original GLOBAL folder into the exisiting one. I don't know if this made any changes.

This all occured over the past few days--it wasn't until today that I discovered Marias Pass wasn't working. Aside from reinstalling it--which fortunately doesn't involve uninstalling the whole game--does anyone have a solution?
Ever seen simulated rails on Mars? With any luck, you will by the end of this year.

Guessing is a tough way to fix route/rolling stock problems . . . The best way is to run the diagnostic test routines in Route_Riter.

You do not mention which "Marias Pass" route is involved here, but it is probably the tsection.Install the latest version and see if that fixes it.Copper River is an old route and I would investigate which files it wants to install to the "Global" folder before you do that. When installing anything new to MSTS I never install it directly to the sim but install it to a temporary folder and inspect what it wants to install before moving it to the MSTS installation.

Thanks for the advice. I'll have to remember those tips in the future. I meant the default Marias Pass Route.

Unfortunately, I didn't give myself a chance to test the tsection theory--I just reinstalled the game, and now it works again. Still, thanks for the helpful advice and tips.
