Yes, the Big-Boy has been my favorite since my model railways days and had the Rivarossi H0 version of it.

Looking forward to getting the RSC cab forward loco, having modified the IHH Big Boy with better smoke and chuff-chuffs !

A fresh caught sailor in the US Navy, I remember returing home from leave in California, heading back to Great Lakes, Ill. and passing through Wyoming and watching a 100+ car train, with two Big Boys up fromt, one or two of them in the middle, and a couple bring up the rear.

The shear awesome power, with steam pouring fourth, smoke stack bellowing, is a memory of mine I will never forget!

Of course, the superior flexibility and efficency of the diesel locomotives retired the lot, but they fail to show the same glory as in the days of steam!

A young German made a very decient model of this loco for MSTS (forgetting his name. Jan Chris???) But TraInz's version had both driver sets pivoting. Nonsense! Actually, the back set of drivers were rigid to the boiler and only the front set were articulated. Watching them making a turn-around through a WYE showed the way the front if the boiler would overhang is a turn! WOW!

    Regards,

    Bill

Now also using it's automatic switch motors here and there means that having to break track ribbons doing it will interfere with Standard scenarios created by those who already have downloaded the route.

So please wait until I release the final version of it after all that needs fixing has been seen to.

Haven't heard anything on this project for awhile. Is it a WIP or has it been completed?

    Otto,

    Yes indeed!

I think I am almost finished, having made a major effort to get the speed limits right.

There are about 30 tracks in the Yerno yard with speed limits of 60 MPH! It was real fun getting them all adjusted to proper yard speeds of 15 MPH!

Lesson learned? Set your speed limits to their proper values when you initially lay your track work!

Final thing to do? Assign names of sidings and yard track work and the Yermo yard will finish that job.

I will upload it to you when completed (about next week.)

    Regards,

    Bill

UPDATE: I may very well be delayed in doing much more, if i loose power with the approach of, soon to be, hurricane Issac!!!!!

Right now, the storm is headed for the Louisiana-Missippippi border, almost a repreat of hurricane Katrina of years past! New Orleans is in danger once again!

It is expected to reach a strong catagory 2 by the time it reaches landfall.

I think I will be alright here in Pensacola, Fl, but one must never assume anything with these storms!

    I am prepared!

    Bill
