Thread: Fictional Railroads 7

  1. #1

    Default Fictional Railroads 7

Starting a new thread.... previous is here: http://www.trainsim.com/vbts/showthr...al-Railroads-6

Everyone needs to follow the guidelines, starting with what's been in place for years and years :

    http://www.trainsim.com/vbts/showthr...sting-tutorial!)

Summarized for those with shorter attention spans:

    • If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all
    • If you have something you're not supposed to have in the first place, don't post pictures of it
    • Post the name of the route and whose equipment you're showing off -- that eliminates 90% of the comments

If you still feel the urge to be ultra-critical, feel free to use PM's or post to a site like Facebook where that type of activity is more welcome.

Those who can't follow the spirit and intent of these three simple rules may find themselves facing a one-week penalty application of the brakes...

Also, as with all threads in the screen shot forum, comments and posts without photos are subject to removal at some point in the future.

    Enjoy, and be safe!

That is a great shot of Saluda, with very creative power.

I miss using the MP15AC's we had... Sigh.

Paper Mill Local Job on the WMRC's Mountain Division. Power consisted of a GP22ECO, and a GP38 still in it's original MEC colors. The ditchlights had failed in route, so they were restricted to 20mph at the 10 crossings between Rigby Yard, and the complex in Westbrook.

Working their way up and over the hill just outside of Portland. With 13x6 in tow.

Crossing over the causeway at 40mph.

Entering the Paper Mill complex as a amazing speed of 10mph.

Sorting out the cars for the specific locations in the mill. (Yes, bottling the air and kicking cars works PERFECT in ORTS, and I am happy!)

After sorting, they grab the Powdered Limestone hoppers, and Limestone Slurry tanks, to spot into their locations.

Spotting the tanks into the Slurry Building, the crew takes the hoppers to another location in the Mill. Typically this building will take both, but upon request from the mill, They are to be spotted elsewhere.

After spotting the two hoppers, the local job returns to the north yard, to grab more cars. (south yard no longer in service on the other side of the river)

    Next up, the boxcars.

Spotting the first set of boxcars into the shipping building. The other two will go on the south track.

    Thanks Max!
Thanks to the WMRC's amazing customer reputation and service, the Paper Mill has become much busier with rail traffic once again.

We may even need to start using the south yard as well, and not just the north yard.

Another local job to the Sappi Fine Paper Mill.

We see WMRC GP38-2 #230, with GMTX GP40 #3008, pulling 17 cars towards the Mill complex.

Arrived at around 0830, and After a little shuffling in preparation of mill switching, the two units head down into the mill itself.

First pull is of the empty OMYA tanks, and one empty OMYA hopper. (The other two will be finished shortly)

Pulling the loaded boxcars out of the S&R building. Two headpin cars and a CNA car, will be bound for St. Johnsbury, the rest are going to East Deerfield.

Setting in the empties for loading.

Loaded cars in the background in the North Yard.

After doing all the swapping. The engineer swapped ends, and is now using the GMTX 3008 unit, to shuffle the train together and head out.

Train departs the Sappi Mill North Yard at 1115, with 8 loads and 9 empties, heading back to Rigby Yard.

Swinging out onto the Mainline, heading towards Portland.
