    Computer crashes using TS 2015

This problem just started as of yesterday. TS 2015 crashes just after the opening screen spools up. I have run " Verify Casche " twice and it still crashes my computer to the DOS screen. I was working on a route I was building when this problem started. Nothing else I have installed on my computer causes a crash. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Would hate to loose TS 2015 since I have a lot invested in this simulato

Check that you don't have any PONtrack.bin files. If you have delete them.

What did you do on this computer since TS-2015 has worked and BEFORE it stopped loading TS-2015 ?

I would suspect the route that you were working on has corrupted the TS2015 start up process and no amount of cache verification will fix it as it appears to be crashing when it encounters this "route" file, ie its in a loop that you may have created (inadvertently).

The worrying part is that this "fault" is crashing Windows and not just TS2015 - you may need to run some Windows diagnostics to see if there is a problem in the OS eg sfc /scannow (Google) and chkdsk /r at boot (Google). Is all your hardware running OK and not over heating?

Can you copy that route file to another location - delete it from TS2015 - then run cache verification again until no new files are acquired and then try to run TS2015.

There may well be other solutions.

Thank you all for the helpful info you have given me. I have deleted the route that I was working on at the time of the crash and will try to run Verify Cache to see if that remedies the problem. I had someone from a company called "US Tech Rep " go into my computer and remove all spyware and malware then reset my computer spec's to where they are supposed to be. Now I will run the Verify Cache engine and see if all is well. Thank you again. Ron White

That sounds rather suspicions did they do it in person or remotely. Are they a verified trustworthy company?

Yes, I would never allow anybody who is not present in person in front of my computers to access them and not even then, depending on who it is, having to log them on to let whoever access sensitive whatever only an administrator of it can do.

Not even Microsoft, who do it anyway when verifying your computer before installing whatever that has been downloaded from them !

Thanks for the comeback everyone. I removed all routes that were in the Workshop that I installed on TS 2015, did 2 "verify Cache" installs, also did a windows check of my programs but found nothing wrong with my computer. TS 2015 gets as far as the scienarios load screen, then crash again. Thing about deleting TS 2015 and going back to MSTS if I cannot get this Glitch fixed. Thanks Ron White

If nothing is wrong with Windows running other programs on your computer then TS-2015 should also work !

B.t.w., what version of WIN is running on your computer, laptop or desktop and where has Railworks been installed by Steam ?

I would suggest that you COPY the entire STEAM folder and PASTE it to somewhere else where there is space for it on your HD/s !

Then un-install it and have Steam install it again and it should know where to install it depending on the WIN O/S installed on your computer.

That will take some time, depending on how much of TS-2015 you have installed.

That done and it is working as it should then BACK-UP the entire contents of the Railworks folder and keep doing that whenever all of it is working as it should, having added non-DTG Payware and Freeware whatever to it one after the other, checking after every addition that all of Railworks it still working and has been BACKED-UP again !

It is also a good idea to have whatever Windows is installed make all STEAM folders Read/Write !

It would be useful to know what your computer specs are - ie info like this:

Windows logo + r/R key type in Msinfo32 press enter note what it says.

System Summary - Points of importance:
OS Name and whether 32-bit or 64-bit (under system type)
                    OS Version
                    Installed Physical Memory

                    then choose

                    Components

                    Choose storage

                    Choose Drives
                    • List the Hard drives info – two items needed:
                    • Size
                    • Free Space

                    Choose Display
Note Adapter Type or adapter description
                    Adapter RAM
                    Driver Version

That would give us an idea to see if your problem is hardware and/or OS related.
