Looking at the Steam reviews, seems the route has a number of issues. Rolling stock definitely a cut and paste from previous SWT routes, the steam loco has issues and the 47 is indeed Duff as it's non-driveable. Route uses the avenue of trees approach to scenery, though at least one commentator at UKTS wetting their nappy as apparently they are "new" trees.

I'll wait for Thomson's Gotthard Line...

When the most important new thing in a train game, is new trees.

Then you know the cause is lost. Just a cash cow now, as i said previously.

They couldn't even impliment 64x without causing problems for a huge amount of users.

I am starting to wonder if TS2020, if released will be the end. The company has sucked all they can out of the cash cow!

I think the end has already come and we just haven't realised it Rich.

            We're all doomed...

Seriously I see the price is pitched slightly lower than the usual £24.99 at £17.99 so would go down to @£10.00 in a sale but, no, still not really worth it. Oh and you can bet your boots all the stations etc. are custom built for the location so no free form structures that could be used in your own project.

Hehehehehehe, i think we are Vern.

Too be honest even if it was freeware i wouldn't run it buddy. Just too damn short for my taste.

And it is modern era, which leaves me cold anyway.

But if it was freeware i would have nothing to complain about. So i would keep my big cake hole shut.

I am banned again from N3V forum, because i said the Cornish mainline route was rubbish. Which it plainly is if anyone even has only a fleeting knowledge of GWR history. But it is payware @ £19.99, so as far as i am concerned it is fair game.

Yes I saw the exchange of views over on the N3V forum. TBH I'm confused as to the history of the route as it looks like someone made it, another user then turned it into payware and someone else again is doing the scenarios. But you are quite right, regardless of who did what, if it's in TRS2019 as a default route claiming to represent Cornwall in the 1930's then it needs to look and act the part. We grumble about DTG but that is one area where they do try, e.g. Riviera Line in the 50's, Woodhead or Derek's Weardale line. And the thing about Trainz, even if you did get rid of all the BR signage and modern looking platforms you would still have modern road vehicles running everywhere.

Bloke from Australia created it Vern. N3V decided to make it DLC payware and someone else as you rightly said, did the sessions.

But as usual N3V didn't improve on it, they just slapped a price tag on it.

Maybe i am too harsh or lack social skills. But to me it's rubbish plain and simple.

Then the route builder got right up my nose. By saying he couldn't find anything by me on the DLS.

Totally irrelevant, i know when something isn't right. As my poor old late dad used to say. If you are going to do something, do it right or don't bother doing it at all.

Agree Vern, i love DTG's Riviera in the Fifties, Weardale is excellent, Woodhead only spoilt for me because of the overhead spaghetti

There is a really good Paddington - Westbury route on the DLS. late 1970's - 1980's. No errors in TRS19, which would be a much more fitting creation for N3V to purloin for a built in route or DLC. Even has two layers, activated by the default session. So you can enable and disable certain areas depending on time period.

                  Mike.

Well, I got the Portsmouth updated route to Waterloo, Vern, in the recent Steam Sale, and not only are nearly all of the stations one big individual custom build, but, the tree line only extends out a few yards, similar to GARL, which makes it a ''drive from the cab ONLY route'', from what i can see, as when in helicopter view you can't go out very wide at all, they've cut all the vegetation out and there's just no scenery, no doubt to save resources on frame rates as it's a big route.
I hope DTG don't go down this path for future layouts, it would be a shambles.

                    Cheerz. Steve.

My Steam monthly funds are now going to SCS while I assemble the DLC needed to install the pro-mods. I just refunded another imperfect add on for TS, should have known better. Maybe the Gotthard Line will be of interest but following the other thread on here, even that is set in the modern era which doesn't really hit the spot of my memories travelling there.

Well, I'll be running my payware locos from Paul Mersel on this Swiss route which will evoke lots of old memories, all you need is a bit of imagination and some old rolling stock and you can do anything on these modern-ish DLC routes, pure bliss........

ISTR having in my collection a fairly old German electric which I bought as DLC years ago, plus the DB UIC coaches and silverfish stock - no wimpy cloth or padded seats there my lad. Sweaty bum on hard plastic for a three hour journey!! Should pass muster.

In all seriousness, remember first time I passed through the (proper, not the new "base") Gotthard Tunnel, seemed never ending.

Guess we should probably move the rest of this discussion to Mr. Thomson's thread!
