Too bad it requires using Steam. That's a business model I just haven't found worthy of supporting..
If you like what you see here at Trainsim.com, be it the discussions and knowledge in the forums, items saved in our library or the ongoing development of our TSRE Fork, I hope you'll consider a paid membership to help support keeping the site operating.... Thanks!

I too will never support steam, you must be online, and they can cut you off with a dispute.

I picked up the Bossman Stanier Mogul in the West Somerset sale. Very nice bit of kit, as you would expect from BMG though a bit wasted on the West Som with its 25 MPH heritage railway speed limit.

Mulling over the GWR Manor, gets mixed reviews on Steam and actually an oldish Just Trains model that appears to have been tarted up a bit.

Which Manor Vern, Bossman don't do one as far as i know. VW does and it's a new model.

I think it’s the old Just Trains one Mike, from what I’ve been told on the DTG forum not worth bothering with.
Having fun with the Bossman Mogul, though.

I can't see that sorry if it is VW he does all his stuff from scratch. But are you saying the one on sale is the JT one from years ago. If yes, then that is rubbish. Bossman's stuff is the dogs, so are most of CW's loco's.

Just bought myself another copy of TSC 2024 for £24.99. Had to see how it would play on my new setup. Pleasantly surprised, gone from 30 - 40fps on the old pc, to hovering around 70fps with higher settings. Very surprised all my DLC was restored with the new purchase.

Out of interest Mike, did your Windows serial number transfer okay to the new hardware? Have read that if you change too many components it regards it as a new PC and you need to pay again. Did you take the plunge and do the Win 11 update?

Anyhow TSC is getting the lions share of my time, apart from Sniper Elite, so many routes I’ve bought and barely played, hard to know where to start. Was trying to do an alphabetical playthrough but jumped from C to W to take a run on WCML South, after the leak at the weekend this is probably the big summer/TSW5 route for TSW. Then I found myself having a go on the New Zealand route!

Hi Vern, installed my Win10 Pro to new pc (it is all new). And microcrap told me, no licence key found on pc. Then i had another message have you updated any hardware, so i said yes and i was able to activate it fine. Of course i am logged into microcrap account, so the two probably cross referenced. Then i updated to Win11 Pro without any problems, buddy.

I had to have TSC for the Wycombe and Tenbury routes, which i enjoy immensely. Plus it is a waste of all the excellent steam era addons i have and also cutting off my nose to spite my face. Just because DTG are a bunch of woke morons. Mr pink fluffy ears wouldn't have lasted 5 minutes with the fitters i trained and worked with.

                      Mike.

That's good news if I decide to go down the upgrade route. Realistically you could have a PC motherboard burn out and need replacing so nice to know they cater for that.

I must put Wycombe and Tenbury back on there also the Virtual District Line, though that also suffered from the invisible signal SPAD syndrome. Think you're right about DTG. That NDA breach at the weekend with the WCML pictures is what happens when you let a bunch of kids in as beta testers, instead of people who have worked in the industry or been around these sims for years as we have and know how to keep our mouths shut. Not just to get early access to some content and blag about it to your mates - who then drop you in it! Anyhow it looks like WCML is going to be modern era with Bendylinos and soulless one handle EMU's. So I'll probably get it and hope at some point someone does a retro Class 86 pack for it (fat chance more likely).
                        Vern.

Yes you should be fine to upgrade Vern. Haven't got around to it yet, for me personally i would be so chuffed. If the Wycombe route was extended from Taplow to Paddington. I run without SPAD ending the game buddy, so it doesn't affect me. I didn't see anything about an NDA breach sorry Vern, i haven't been back to DTG's forum since i told them to shove it where the sun don't shine. Is this WCML for TSW4 or maybe even TSW5, with their track record. Agree about the kids motives for taking up beta testing. Bound to be modern era Vern, they always take the easy route. Which requires minimal research and no historical knowledge of the subject. What will it even consist of, probably not the Euston end of the route, a 30 mile section in the middle nowhere.

                          Mike.
