Banned for life you would be Vern. They must have more money than sense, a lot of these people. It's beyond my comprehension why they defend these shonky companies, with such gusto. About the only one i would speak up for is Lapioware with DRS. I paid £14 for the early release version and have had my money's worth, many times over. So much so i will buy it again at the asking price when it gets the full release. I have never said before i don't believe. But he told me that the pop up signallers messages, when held at an adverse signal was your idea. It's a feature that i really enjoy and takes away the feeling of. Is the signal faulty or has the game gone wrong, which you get with the other three main rivals. Good stuff Vern, you should have worked in the Signalling Section

Well the Control was close, telling the signallers what we wanted them to do with the train service, or getting their ideas in return.

They were built in 1952, Mike, originally known as the E10 electric loco for passenger work, they then got renumbered to DB BR110, I think they've all but gone now on their railway system.

The older German locos have a steering wheel regulator/throttle type handle you turn up to about 24 times, or, so, Vern, with the traction motor voltage display, similar to our AM electrics, and the tap changer is a dial. I remember driving the BR155 in TSW 1, which was quite enjoyable, better than the little stick throttles nowadays on newer electrics.

Thanks very much Steve, i just looked them up for a piccie reference. After reading your post buddy, not what i was thinking of. Which is the 103 with the rounded cab front, which is one of my favourites. But still a very pleasing looking loco, Steve.

              Cheers buddy.

That's about the one thing that might make this worthwhile but I'm still jibbing at paying £30. DTG have had enough of my money this year.

Well I see the German route released with all sorts of issues, surprising as usually anything Maik Golz is involved with is generally good. Some frantic damage control being attempted by DTG, but too little, too late as far as I'm concerned. They want £30 for a 25 mile route, needs to be spot on.

Spent the weekend running trains in TSW3 which wasn't really my intent. For whatever reason it just seemed to click with my sensibilities lol. When I originally had obtained TSW I had vowed to stick with the German routes only (I had a ton of UK routes and stock, and the North American rail DTG made in TSC which slowly succumbed to the beast that is Run 8). Same went for TSW2...I vowed only German routes. Except...I ended up with that ridiculously short heritage rail with some UK power and cars...damn you DTG.

Then, the major error was watching a video that popped up on YouBoob by some real-life UK train driver ('Dadrail') looking at the recently released MML. I gave in and picked that route up as it looked quite fun. Despite it not being DB. Hook line and sinker. The best part is, the route is enjoyable despite the bugs and missing bits. I managed to complete all of the chapter scenarios that are working (the last one is deffo borked) and a couple of service runs. I know fixes are incoming (as per Skyhooks responses in the DTG forum) so yeah, it's all good.

Then spent the rest of the weekend running on the London high speed working on the chapter scenarios and enjoying the variation in services. I've got Brighton, and the Pennines to mess about it in over this week. Now waiting for a sale (and the free French route(s) in May) so I can pad out the collection....I 'hate' you DTG (actually I'm a weak man, very weak, when it comes to UK rail...)...

Anyway, is there a Class 55 out yet for TSW1/2/3? I'd like to see some decent clag.

Also, does anyone have a decent reference for UK signalling, horn and bell use (high/low, when to use etc)?

                      Cheers,

                      Dave The Weak

Classic UK diesels appear to have dried up for TSW, so it’s either modern electric or DMU or their take on steam, it seems. However I agree it can be quite compelling, most of the German stuff is done very well. For all the flaws the US freight is okay and graphically, it puts Run 8 back in the Middle Ages. Routes like Sandpoint or HSC are what a railway through the hills should look like, not the very odd appearance R8 gave us of Donner Pass. Cane Creek is also, IMHO, the best version of that route we’ve seen in any sim.

Glad you like MML. Personally I’m holding out until the bugs are fixed and it gets a discount in a sale. But I probably will get the Peak Forest steam route to give it a go.

I've been wondering about the Birmingham route too. It seems a mixed bag (typical of most of the DLC I take it). One of the reasons I picked up the MML was to have a peek at the part of England where my mothers family were from, Leicester/Birmingham. A couple of the more adventurous ones immigrated to Canada in the late 1800's/early 1900's.

Any thoughts on the Birmingham route, Vern?

Well I have just taken a punt on MML as to be fair there is a guy from Skyhook posting on the DTG forum the last few days that the route is essentially going back in the cooker for many of the niggles to be baked out, including a busier timetable.
                            Vern.

So why couldn't they get it right the first time Vern ?

That's the mystery, and a large reason why a number of people were acting (and still are) all triggered. I saw that Jane SHG had posted on the new timetable build, and s/he's been keeping us MML players abreast of the fixes. The communication is good. but if a couple of the numpties don't stop being ultra aggressive towards the SHG rep, I can see that drying up completely. It'd be interesting to know at what point all the forum warrior vitriol just becomes blather and white-noise and then the devs just quit paying any attention to it?

                                Kind regards,
