Have to report I failed to keep the faith, lads.

Well after seeing the Cajon screenshots, I folded although still downloading so not able to play tonight.

It looks like the save game may come back in weeks rather than months, though we shall see on that.

Run8 got more than that out of me today, Scott.

I have no interest in TSW3 or any other number. Exactly, bring on the cardboard and no hiding any kitties in the tree line. LOL

Vern, your money old mate. A man has to do............... etc etc.

Just don't even look at me, hahahahahahaha. Today i will mostly be...........ignoring Vern (Fastshow).

My latest parting of $60, brought me up to date everything Run8 wise.
Also, several gifts of Run8 content to others suffering over the long haul at times.
Run8 has snagged a bottom feeder (Sucker) from the git go. Not too sure a medical cure for an R8aholic.
Never a drinker, however, what kind of group meeting (Run8Aholic's Anonymous) could I join & open with
            "Hi, I'm SMRY, &, I'm a Run8aholic".

Oh, lastly, as I almost forgot. You'd forgotten at least 1 "Buddy" within last transmission, "DS Out!".

Well Vern, don't beat yourself up, everyone stumbles from time to time. I continue to do so, even at my O'l age.
Look how I stick with RollingLine come hell or high water, such a lonely place, so, so unloved.
All dressed-up, & no one to go to the dance with. Probably just as well anyways, 2-left feet, besides doubt if I could see my feet, let alone feel them.
lol reminds me of younger times when I took a young lady to one of the HS dances, felt like Wally Cleaver, for she was so tall, all I could do is look into her collar bone, least Wally's date, took her high heels off slipped into pumps, then able to see eye to eye.
Sadly, my date couldn't take the shoes off, as footwear hadn't been invented during the "Flintstone Era.

Now I'm getting excited I might be able to save to run a route half the actual length of the prototype I know of a program that saves great and lets you continue on for as long as you want.

                Thanks

Very generous of you making gifts of dlc, buddy.

Now why would you want to be cured Scott, it's a good addiction buddy.

Well buddy i suppose i better play the game for a bit, after splurging out $100 yesterday.

Funny thing is there are actually some pretty good console "games". This isn't one of them. But apparently it's a buyer's market in a niche market because everyone dreams of honking a horn or something. I don't think they target railroad enthusiasts and if they do it's those that don't look further into what is available or coming down the pipe.

I noticed a video once where the guy who is a gamer youtuber actually said how realistc TSW was. There is a difference between how realistc a TSW is vs say ATS/ETS. Granted I'm not a trucker but I know many who love it. I love eye candy but I love either realism or an actual challenge (repeat playability I like to call it).

As far as I know this "game" is only capable of playing activites built in STILL. There is a stupid activity editor that changes the consist, weather, or some othe type of garbage. There is no editor or even new activities that come out down the pipe. For how much money they make on sales I'd love to see them update the activities before the next version gets pumped out but rest assured they're already planning or working on TSW4.

                      Hot garbage!

                      Thanks

I don't think DTG has ANY intention on adding a activity editor, con editor or a route editor. If so, you'd think with it now at TSW3, all would be included. And still nothing so one can create content for it. Why they chose not to is a mystery..... Are they too scared that us mortal morons will upstage them and make the sim better as a whole?

I understand why there is no route editor and it's nothing about upstaging in my opinion. As I dabbled with Unreal Engine because the engine creates the scenery it's kind of hard to reinvent the wheel and get it to work. Not saying it isn't possible but that is just the way that part is.

Asset editing or mods should not be an issue however if the developer is willing to get the most value out of the product for the consumer. The reason why this isn't included is because the devs don't care about value and our puming and dumping.

Activity Editors not being able to create different situations which should be part of the program is unacceptable. At the very least they could go the approach that Run8 takes with world saves and do something so that those who invest all their money into their routes and products can take full advantage of the routes they own.

But since they can't even save an activity in progress I guess that isn't their priority right now. To me their whole goal is to get people excited, then know they will get bored and want to spend more. PERIOD!

MSTS model worked pretty damm good for MSTS though you can say they lost their revenue streams because of user content. Run8 actually has a pretty good model just not enough content creation to give enough variety or else it would be very effective. Trainz is a bit different because they have their download system as a revenue stream which really sucks but if you have what you need you can build to your heart's content. Got plenty of hours out of my 15 bucks and was easily the best value of a purchase I made other than a free TSW dowload.

                          Thanks

First impression is… not bad actually.
Had a run from St Pancras down to Ashford on SEHS and they seem to have tweaked the Javelin sounds better also the headlight now actually illuminates the tunnel walls. Lighting is a bit bright and other people have commented on this, need a couple of sliders in the options to fine tune things.

Cajon I have to say looks magnificent. Did an evening run from Victorville to Barstow over the high desert section and the colours and lighting look gorgeous. If only we could combine those graphics with the gameplay from Run 8.

                            Haven’t encountered dynamic weather yet.

Haven’t tried the new German route yet, maybe later today. Also the main event will be Tuesday when all our existing TSW content can be downloaded, see how that looks and runs in the refreshed engine.

So overall - worth £40, probably not but I’m not disappointed either.

Just been reading the dtg forum and they can shove it.

Prefer R8 with lower res veg, than be conned by those charlatans again.

Besides the lighting is much better and more natural, in R8.

Come to think of it, the lighting in Trainz latest. Is better, with a bit of enviroment settings adjustment.

                              Mike.
