The £104 version is, 1. Aimed at people with more money than sense! 2. Designed to give people new to the game all the dependencies they need for the new routes.

Anyhow, in the end I threw caution to the wind and splashed out on the Deluxe version - it’s only money and best to spend it before Ms. Reeves taxes it off us next month.

Well TSW is always going to be TSW, but after all the anti hype the WCML is not as bad as was made out. Main problem just too short, non stop run from Euston to MKC with the Pendolino over in half an hour. At least this time they got some traction sounds in the cab and you can open the windows, unlike last years ECML.

Now setting out on the San Bernardino line which, like Antelope Valley last year, is a section we don’t have in Run 8. Again not too bad though really should be much more dusty and grimy running between the freeway sections as it does.

Haven’t looked at the German route or Flixtrain yet.

Biggest gripe so far is yet again having to download and install all the previous owned DLC rather than just transfer across.

As with all the train games, probably blitz it for a couple of weeks then trot off and do something else.

"Yeah Vern, just read your post in the R8 section. A change is as good as a rest buddy. I have absolutely nothing against the R8 developers. I have said before, the only reason it is not on the pc. Is my lack of interest in local industry and shunting operations. The vegetation is poor but just have to look passed that"

You have to think out of the box. I most times sit at a place and just watch the trains go by or just ride in a motor as a dead head if you know what that means.
There is so much that you can do with that sim besides collect objects. It's not a game but a simulator.

It's not a terrabad new version. I'm enjoying the WCML despite the licensing derp, and I quite like the Frankfurt to Fulda route. Small patch out today.

Yep, the German route probably the best of the bunch, though I haven't found anywhere yet the tilting ICE-T can go faster than the conventional line speed.

And the San Bernardino route is very nice too, just makes you kind of regret Run 8 couldn't look a bit more like that.

Looking forward to the JT route. I just don't understand the DTG route building philosophy...pick a 'nowhere' point to start, pick a 'nowhere' point to end but in the marketing mention large known stations in sensible locales even though the modelled route doesn't go there...or originate from a popular place...I mean I get that Pink Ears enjoys short piddly runs but he needs to be developing routes with trackage that satisfies most players. Shambolic dev team and even worse management. Ugh.

I just don’t think they have that many people in house working on stuff any more. A couple of coders (possibly), people who do the console conversions but otherwise seems mainly marketing and admin people. It’s a bit like a hospital with only a handful of doctors and nurses!

Anyhow I see the next release for the US, a second Boston route MBTA to Worcester just had its release postponed, either the route isn’t ready or they don’t want it going out into TSW5 before trying to patch out some more bugs. Well I already have Boston to Springfield in TSC which is twice the length and set in a more classic era with Alco’s on most of the trains. That will do me.
