Brandon Smith from Trainsim and Elvastower

Many of you know me by BrandonS261 on here or ATSF3751 on Elvastower. I first got started with MSTS back in 2001 as well when I got it for Christmas present from my Grandparents back when I was only 13 years old. Big mistake because I have been hooked ever since then and only use Open Rails as a gaming platform.

Being into trains ever since I was a little boy I have been fascinated mainly by steam locomotives and have ridden and seen many throughout my life. Again thanks to another one of my Grandpas for getting me hooked on them!

Being a regular on both here and Elvastower for years along with one of the younger ones in the group I feel I have a unique perspective being that I am both a content creator and route builder. I tend to bite off more then I can chew but have learned many of the tricks from the older folks on here and even some who are no longer with us and hope to pass on my knowledge to future generations to keep Open Rails alive for years to come!

When it comes to my day job I work in the manufacturing industry building hydrolic systems for companies such as Bobcat, LORAM, and Caterpillar. Before that I was a prep chef in the culinary industry for over 10 years.

I am also a volunteer on the Milwaukee Road 261 steam locomotive out of Minneapolis, MN and have been for many years! Even used my modeling skills to help create paint schemes and models for the organization in recent years. Models of them will be coming soon enough to Open Rails for those wondering!

A few of my other hobbies include photography, biking, drawing, lake days, getting together with friends and family and CAD drawing to name a few.
