Absolutely Brilliant!!

I've been testing it on a couple of routes and it runs so smoothly as to be unbelievable. My favourite so far has been trying the railtour on the superb West Midlands Network. It honestly looks and feels better than any of the commercial sims.

Good news too, not sure if this was a change already made but older rw format routes now work, so classics like Bruce's Heavy Coal can be enjoyed once more.

The only plea I would make, for a future update, is for a Save Game option. Some of the routes (including the new supplied ones which I have still to look at) are quite long and can't always be driven in a single session. I know you can skip to a station but it's not the same as being able to resume.

This program file name is "OBTS_Route.RW~CSV_Chek+Cvrt.Exe".
Have used it on a few old .RW routes with good luck.

Also, I believe a PAUSE\SAVE\RESUME function for routes is on Chris Lees long to-do list for the main program.

I will give it a miss sorry. I used to use BVE constantly 14 - 15 years ago and used to enjoy it immensely.

Sadly, I am of the same mind.
After reading Vern's assessment I went to the instruction page and felt as if I was back in the days of DOS and writing batch files.
Something I really neither want nor need at my age - it makes my head hurt.

Yes same here Bruce, DOS was fine 25 years ago when i was young enough and well enough to be bothered.

Made my head hurt just reading the Wiki, shame because BVE, was good going back some time.

Installed it and read the addons installation instructions here...............

Cannot get the loco to move though, pressing all the correct keys and zilch.

Some of the UK locos you have to put the reverser forward then back quickly (F, V) to set the AWS which is cancelled with Insert. You may also have to hit spacebar to turn off the Driver's Reminder Appliance (IMHO the most pointless piece of safety kit ever retro-fitted to UK traction). The beauty of OpenBVE is that so long as the routes themselves have the correct file structure they can go anywhere - I have some installed under OpenBVE, some under Mackoy and a few under BVE4. You just use the menu to navigate to the csv or rw file. Same with the trains.

It *is* worth persevering with, get West Midlands up and running with the Class 37 and you won't regret it. Equally with both Mike and Bruce reporting difficulty, perhaps the author(s) need to review the installation procedure (particularly the various utilities which need to be gathered) to make it a bit more seamless?

I've downloaded and installed the core program from HERE.
And I also downloaded and correctly "unpackaged" a set of UK signals, found HERE.
I also downloaded a UK route from HERE....it's one I used many millennia ago (the second one down.)

Everything appears to be installed correctly and in their proper folders/subfolders.

But I can't find the locomotives/stock suggested......
"Traction on the route is: Class 156, Class 153, and freight is DRS Class 20, Class 33 and Class 37 and EWS Class 37, Class 47 and Class 66.".

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

I have the Class 37 + 6x MK1's on the ECML route.

Try here Bruce, use the menu top left for types of stock.
